Rumors are TRUE and Kid Rock is set to host the CMT Awards.

And the rocker is claiming that he “will be awesome.”

CMT Awards airs live on June 9th in Nashville.

Shania Twain was moved by each of the contestants emotional and original interpretations of her songs.  The Canadian country singer was so touched that she wrote about it on her blog.

“It was emotional for me to listen to every one of their gorgeous voices singing my words,” she continues. “I was moved and very impressed by their emotion and original interpretations of my music. Every one of them thoroughly entertained me and reminded me of how lucky I am to be a songwriter. All six of the performers applied their own sound, each being very different from one another. I found they all created original versions of each of my songs and did a great job with the delivery of both lyrics and vocals.”

Shania cannot pick favorites, but she wishes all the contestants good luck.

Emerson Drive’s lead vocalist Brad Mates and his wife , Jana, gave birth to their son on Wednesday night.  They named their new born Tyler Robert Mates.  Tyler arrived at 7:04 PM, weighing 7 lbs. 13oz.  Tyler is the first child of Brad and Jana, who got married in October of 2008.  Congrats on the new addition to the family!

According to The Boot, Taylor Swift flew to Alabama on Monday for a surprise visit to Auburn University, and in attendance were the two hug-starved college boys, Ryan Leander and Michael Wekall. The country superstar posted a photo of herself on Twitter, wearing a T-shirt that said “A Hug for Ryan Leander and Michael,” and revealed, “So, we might have flown to Alabama for a surprise show today. One of those unforgettable days. Thank you, Auburn!”

Taylor’s impromptu trip was the ultimate reward for a mission the two Auburn students were on. They performed three elaborate challenges in order to get the chance to lovingly wrap their arms around the blonde
